The Cultivated Difference
When athletes have a performance mindset they perform better because their mindset is helping them focus, problem solve, and balance. Once large mental hurdles become small things and their mindset focuses in once they step on the court, field, or arena. Every time I work with an athlete, I work to towards the following.
Things Cultivated athletes feel
-
Permission to struggle and the mental resilience to benefit from the struggle that is training and performing at a high level struggle is good (mental resilience)
-
Trust in the process that is developing and refining athletic skillsets
-
Nimble and adaptive mindset
-
Supported in their journey
-
Ability to take a long term view
-
Capable of owning their tough times and celebrating their successes
Things Cultivated athletes avoid
-
Feeling alone
-
Ignoring their body's signals,
-
Being dominated by singular perspectives their coach has the monopoly on
-
Poor communication with the people who support them on their journey

Methodology
My methodology is always collaborative between all of the people involved in making an athlete great. From the athlete herself to the coaches involved, and the parents, everyone plays a role, and i ensure all those who are needed, are involved.
I start with an initial set of interviews with the athlete the parents and the coach and then develop an action plan from there. After building and starting the plan, I continue to work hands on with the athlete to ensure we are cultivating the mindset and skills they need to perform at the best of their ability.
